About Boy Q:
Inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Boy Q: Negotiations in Flesh and Rubber is a queer dance-theatre work exploring masculinity, femininity and nonbinary identity as fluid, embodied negotiations. Through choreography, text, theatricality and transformation, five performers play with how gender is performed, inherited, desired and disrupted. Like Shakespeare’s forest, Boy Q creates a world where familiar rules loosen and the body becomes a site for experimentation, contradiction, pleasure and becoming.
