'Frau Etna' Frau Etna is an homage that the choreographer Valerio Iurato makes to his land Sicily. Valerio puts at the centre of his piece one of the main symbols of Sicily, the vulcano Etna. For Valerio the Etna is a natural incarnation of two other fundamental figures of the Sicilian culture. The woman and the mother. Beauty, strength, authority, pain and suffering are the characteristics in which the choreographer see’s the three figures that are connected to one another. From this vision like a chimera the three become one.

'Kalilele / Kalibanjo'

Contemporary dance / Tanztheater piece centered around the character of a hermit in a reality where the world as we know it ceased to exist: there is no concept of society anymore and whoever is left has to fend for their own survival.

"The world has gone up in smoke, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Humans have always been horrible to each other, the difference is, they don’t bother hiding it anymore. Scavengers will still be scavengers after you put a good looking façade on them, now at least one can see them coming. I have nothing against that general notion, I still hope for the best for my fellow species, even when it means destroying one another.

 I have made my peace, I will take no part in it. I'll just sit here and play my ukulele. Sometimes a rodent scurries by. Sometimes a murder of albino crows peck around demanding entertainment. Sometimes a bipedal rat gets too close and I have to clean its brains from my lawn."
