“Stubborn lead” by Simona Štangová & Voland Székely

is a performance that unveils differences in human character and elaborates the components of human beings’ drive and their actions towards a goal, mission or dream and the process of approaching an object of “desire” within its transparency and obscurity in one. This journey of divergence and completeness of human behaviour reflects on the inaccuracy of what one perceives and is encoded with. How perception of the world and our surroundings is limited and formed by external and internal realm. The body, mind, DNA and external impacts that form one´s perception are partly subjective elements of what we see and understand. How do we really know what is reality out of what we perceive from outside …? What is the role of ego in our actions and how much does ego affect our decisions? Is it just a stubborn ego or rational and emotional decision? The audience/participants are offered with space to observe their own character´s representation of actions towards their aims and their understanding of what they perceive from others behaviour and action. In other words, what is happening on the outside and inside within their personal given and learned codes. Political-social interest of this piece is how society defines the character of a leader and how knowledge and experiences might not be sufficient enough to predict the actions of a person in power. What intention has one towards the aim and what importance we put on the intention of the person? Is the acknowledgement of one's intention necessary  and what is the accuracy of the acknowledgement ?

“To Chopin’s Sisters” by Aleksandra Krzekotowska

Das Solo “To Chopin’s Sisters” ist ein Versuch, über das Leben der Frauen im Schatten eines Genies nachzudenken. Sie wären wohl sehr glücklich gewesen, es geht hier aber nicht darum, zu zeigen, dass sie unter Chopins Ruhm gelitten haben. Es geht um die gesellschaftliche Situation einer Frau, deren Lebensszenario vorprogrammiert wurde. Was hätten die Schwestern gesagt und getan, wenn sie immer noch am Leben wären?

Die Recherche über das Leben der Schwestern, die Liebe, die sie für ihn empfanden und pflegten, und ihr von der Gesellschaft geprägtes Leben haben mich dazu bewegt, zu überlegen: Was wäre mit ihnen passiert, wenn sie

im 21. Jahrhundert gelebt hätten?

Das Leben der Schwestern Chopin ist der Ausgangspunkt des Projekts. Alle drei Schwestern, Ludwika, Izabela und Emilia, waren sehr talentiert, ihr Leben war aber kulturell sehr durch die Sitten und den Zeitgeist der damaligen Gesellschaft geprägt.  Emilia, die jüngste, war krank und ist im Alter von 15 gestorben. Lebhaft und temperamentvoll, sie wollte nie wirklich das Genie von Fryderyk und seine Position in der Familie und der Welt völlig akzeptieren. Beide, Fryderyk und Emilia hatten ein großes literarisches Talent und schrieben gemeinsam Theaterstücke. Izabella war die bescheidenste von den 4 Geschwistern, und hat sich in ihrem Leben in Wohltätigkeit für Arme engagiert. Sie hatte Interesse an Literatur und schrieb zwei Bücher für Kinder. Uneigennützig und großzügig, Izabella verzichtete auf Fryderyks Erbe, war aber die Hauptquelle der Informationen über das Leben der Familie Chopin.  Ludwika, die älteste, war seit ihren jüngsten Jahren sehr talentiert und begeistert von Musik und Literatur. Sie hatte die engste Beziehung zu Fryderyk, und als ältere Schwester unterstützte sie ihn emotionell und finanziell. Sie brachte dem kleinen Fryderyk Klavierspielen bei, und beeinflusste so die rasche Entwicklung seines Talents. Sie selbst komponierte herrliche Mazurkas, aber leider haben sich ihre Kompositionen nicht erhalten. Nach Fryderyks Tod schmuggelte Ludwika, in den Rüschen von ihrem Kleid, sein Herz von Paris nach Warschau, zur Heilig-Kreuz-Basilika, wo es heute ruht. Das Leben von Fryderyk Chopin, seine Zweisprachigkeit, seine Flucht von Polen nach Paris, sein Leben weit von seiner besetzten Heimat, und sein Genie haben mein künstlerisches Interesse geweckt.

Sunday showings give the passionate dance enthusiasts a chance to peek in behind the scenes to the world of professional dance artists. Who are these highly trained creatures, who bend and turn like there is no tomorrow? Who with their magic moves kiss away your Sunday sorrow.

Meet the artists during the day at the workshops, where they will share with you their secret worlds of creativity, guiding you through their unique ways of approaching movement and choreography. At night the artists will present their recent creations in an atmospheric performance setting.
