The workshop focuses on the observation and practice of the fundamental physical principles and mechanisms that operate in this couple dance. The classes start with technical and rhythmical exercises that prepare us physically and mentally for the proper execution of tango movements.After the exercises and explorations, we will work on simple phrases of movement and the possibility of combining them freely, opening a world of infinite possibilities, where each person in the singular and then in group, will explore his own voice in this Latin-American improvisation dance. Topics: • My feet and the ground. • My back and my axis • My center and space. • The embrace. • Walk together. • Gravity, weight and pivot. • Opposition and point of support. • Circularity. • Breathing, suspension and movement. Marcela López Morales was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a professional dancer, choreographer and pedagogue who combines these three areas of dance in a constant dialogue between practice and theoretical research. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art & Dance Education (BA) and a Master of Arts (MA) at the Anton Bruckner Private University (Austria). Her work experience includes engagements at permanent dance companies as well as freelance productions in various theaters and countries. Damián Cortés Alberti is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Argentina. In 2019 he acquire the academic degree of Master of Arts, Dance Education from the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz, where he currently also teaches. Also, he studied Tango Argentino with renowned teachers, Theatre at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba (U.N.C), and violin in the Suzuki Method Cordoba. Damian continues his research in the field of art by doing a PhD at the Kunstuniversität Linz, Austria. Since 2016 he is actively involved as a freelance dancer, singer and choreographer in different productions in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Belgium, Macedonia, Slovakia and South Korea.
